to butcher:
1. Descuartizar / Despiezar (un animal). El sentido literal relacionado con preparar carne.
“They butchered the cow” → “Descuartizaron la vaca / la despiezaron.”
2. Matar brutalmente. Uso figurado o histórico, siempre sin entrar en detalles.
“The army butchered their enemies” → “El ejército masacró a sus enemigos.”
